Here at Weston Pro Soccer our coaches use a Guided-Discovery coaching style which leads the player to make their own decisions on the soccer field. By passing this trust onto the player they are more likely to grow in confidence, think for themselves and most importantly learn what you are asking them to achieve. Soccer is a game of the moment and players not coaches need to decide at that moment what they should do on the field, we need to help them to make that decision for themselves. Matt WestonHaving played professionally back in England for Ipswich Town, Matt Weston has extensive soccer experience. His playing career began back in 1986 where he spent 4 years with the Manchester United Academy of Excellence playing alongside David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and other top players and receiving coaching from Sir Alex Ferguson. His career then took him to Ipswich Town who were then in the English Premier League where he served as a Professional under the late John Lyall for 5 years in the mid 1990s. A short spell at Stockport County of the English First Division followed before Weston retired from full time professional football. Matt has just been named on the evaluation panel for F.C. New York, the newest member of the United Soccer League (USL). He has worked with Professional Academy Players at Bolton Wanderers FC of the English Premier League, Semi-Professional Players, College, High School, Premier and Travel, and has a UEFA B Coaching Qualification. Matt founded Weston Pro Soccer back in 2008 and has since launched camps and clinics throughout the State of Connecticut as well as providing professional training & consultancy for various Town Soccer Programs including New Milford & Southbury. He is the current CFC (Connecticut Football Club) Boys Coaching Director for both the 'Gunners' & 'Impact' and is the current Head Coach for the CFC College Showcase Team. Matt has also just recently been appointed as the overall Coaching Director for both Boys & Girls with the CFC Impact. Matt also serves as the Head Coach for the U16 & U12 CFC Impact, as well as the U10 & U12 CFC Gunners. CFC is regarded as the best Premier Program in the state of Connecticut and has coaching staff that includes 15 college coaches, 2 Regional Staff coaches and 2 National Staff coaches.
