Here at Weston Pro Soccer our coaches use a Guided-Discovery coaching style which leads the player to make their own decisions on the soccer field. By passing this trust onto the player they are more likely to grow in confidence, think for themselves and most importantly learn what you are asking them to achieve. Soccer is a game of the moment and players not coaches need to decide at that moment what they should do on the field, we need to help them to make that decision for themselves. Our ultimate aim is to support individuals and teams in pushing the boundaries of their personal development, whatever their level may be, enabling them to achieve a higher level of enjoyment and understanding of the game. |

Matt WestonHaving played & managed professionally, Weston has extensive soccer experience. His playing career began back in 1986 where he spent 4 years with the Manchester United Academy of Excellence which included David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and other top players and received coaching from Sir Alex Ferguson, Archie Knox, Eric Harrison and Brian Kidd. His career then took him to Ipswich Town who were then in the English Premier League where he served as a Professional under the late John Lyall. Weston spent 5 years at Ipswich in the mid 1990s before joining Stockport County on loan in the 1995/96 season. Weston retired from full time professional football soon after before embarking on his coaching career. In the last decade Weston has coached on 2 continents and managed FC New York of the United States Professional League.  Weston is the Founder/Director of Weston Pro Soccer LLC and the Managing Director of Weston Pro Soccer Scholarship Specialists which was founded in 2011. The former Technical Director/Head Coach of FC New York of the USL PRO Division, Matt's coaching experience spans more than a decade in both the UK and US. He has worked with all levels of soccer players spanning two continents from Academy through to Professional & has built up a great coaching resume in the New England Area over the last 6 years after moving to live in Connecticut from Manchester, England. Matt worked as the assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport in 2008 before moving on to set up his own business Weston Pro Soccer. WPS currently run camps and clinics throughout the State of Connecticut and are associated with several town programs as well as providing the coaching staff for CSA Premier, a non-profit Premier Soccer Program based out of New Milford, CT. He is the former Coaching Director for CFC (Connecticut Football Club) and was the Head Coach of the College 'Showcase' Team. Matt recently worked as the Head Women's Soccer Coach for SUNY Purchase before moving on to take the FC New York Technical Director/Head Coach position. Weston spent 12 mths assembling the professional roster for the first team, as well as building the Academy which comprised of a reserve team, U20, U16 & U15 boys teams. He resigned from his post of Head Coach to begin the role as Managing Director of WPSSS.
