Our CoachesWeston Pro Soccer is committed to bringing in the most qualified soccer coaches in the business. Our staff have at least 2 years practical coaching experience and have worked with all age-groups and skill levels. All Weston Pro Soccer coaches must hold NSCAA National, Advanced National or Premier Diploma or their international equivalent. WPS has 5 current College coaches on it's full-time professional coaching staff. Kenny Weston - Weston Pro Soccer's Technical Director
Kenny has extensive coaching experience spanning across 3 continents and is a former UK professional soccer player. His playing days began back in 1986, where he spent four years with Manchester United Academy of Excellence with brother Matt, playing alongside David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and other top players in England. At that time, he learned the game from coaching legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Brian Kidd. His career then took him to Ipswich Town FC who were then in the English Premier League, where he served as a Professional under the late John Lyall for five years in the mid 1990s. A short spell at Preston North End FC of the English First Division in 1995 followed before Kenny retired from full-time professional soccer. Kenny has experience coaching at UK professional club's Bolton Wanderers EPL and Stockport County FC where he coached the U16's. He then moved over to the USA in 2006 and was a MLS player development coach at Southbury in CT for 6 months and whilst there won the CJSA state championship for the boys U12's, the first time in Southbury's history. Moving to Western Australia in 2008 Kenny coached at Football West, coaching their academy teams and specializing in the High Performance Centre based out of Perth WA. In 2009 he coached the state U14's boys at the National Championships and a year later was Head Coach of the U15's boys Western Australia state team which competed and won the Australian National Championships for the first time in 36 years at coffs harbour, fending off the states of Victoria and New South Wales in the process. Named as an Australian All-star coach at the 2010 Nationals was the pinnacle of Kenny's coaching career so far. Working for Football West he also assisted at the WA National Training Centre for over 2 years coaching players who have represented the Australian boys U15's and U17's National team at youth level. Some of the players under Weston's tutelage are playing in the professional A league for Perth Glory men and women and have made the transition into the Australian Institute of Sport, this being the pinnacle full-time program for 16-17 year olds Nationally. Kenny has also coached some female Australian internationals in the NTC who will play in the World Cup this year for the Australian full national team namely the Matilda's. Coaching qualifications include UEFA D,C and B and the FA Prelim UK, he also has a SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) qualification from Australia. Kenny is the founder/managing director of Weston Pro Soccer's Scholarship Specialists in Australia where he lives with his wife Miranda. Christopher Symons - Goalkeeping Coach
Christopher Symons is the current Coaching Director of Soccer Club New Milford which is run under the training of Weston Pro Soccer's staff. From 2000 to 2006 he was employed by the Handsleading Goalkeeping School, London, England, where he ran and organized specialized goalkeeping sessions at an array of venues. From 2004 to 2006, Chris was employed by Leyton Orient FC Centre of Excellence, London England. For Leyton, he served as head goalkeeping coach providing specialized sessions to all of the goalkeepers and incorporating them into team practices, including the England U16 goalkeeper. From 2006 to 2009, Chris worked for MLS & UK International Soccer Camps where he coached specialized goalkeeping clinics in CT, RI and MA. Chris was the Men's and Women's Goalkeeping Coach at SUNY Purchase in 2010. Chris has just started the TopSave Goalkeeping Academy which will provide goalkeepers with specialized training and resources for the goalkeeping community. Chris is in his third year with WPS and is a key member of the coaching/managerial team. Lauren Matthews
A member of the Western Connecticut State University team, Lauren is still playing at a very high level of soccer and has built up over 4 years of coaching experience. On-field honors include: 2007 Rookie of the year, 2008 1st Team All-LEC, and 2008 2nd Team All-New England. This past fall, Matthews led the 15-5-1 Colonials with 10 goals and 2 assists. She had three game winning goals to lead WestConn to the Little East Conference Tournament Championship. Lauren has coached previously with Soccer Pride for 3 years, where she worked at Camps & Clinics throughout the State of Connecticut. She is in her second year with Weston Pro Soccer. Gerry Brennan
Born in Co. Meath, Ireland, Gerry had a very successful playing career back home and was scouted to come and play in the United States for the University of the Cumberlands, KY. Whilst he was there he received 4 ALL MSC Conference achievements and won the coaches MVP in 2005/06. Moving into coaching, Gerry has continued to excel and has worked with Weston Pro Soccer for over 2 years.
